The curated wall of ceramic vessels transforms functional storage into a gallery of craft heritage, each pot and amphora carrying the memory of wheel-thrown traditions spanning millennia, their earth-toned glazes harmonizing with the overall palette while individual forms offer endless variation for the contemplating eye. The designer demonstrates remarkable sensitivity in introducing the vibrant circular rug as chromatic counterpoint, its abstract expressionist patterning in blues, reds, and yellows providing necessary visual tension against the otherwise monochromatic earth scheme, while its circular geometry softens the rectilinear room and echoes the organic forms of both fireplace and vessels. The Shkrub house appeared out of love and for love — a loving couple with three kids. The DNA of the house includes the structuring aesthetic principles that find inspiration in Ukrainian history and culture inspired by Japanese wisdom.

The element of earth as a material makes itself felt in structural aspects of the home, such as the original thatched roof and in the beautiful and dense textured clay walls. The idea of paying homage, as a founding place, can be sensed throughout the home, like a delicate guiding thread.
