Legang Sun, Songtao Meng, and Xiaoxue Ai's Kanglaibo Resort Hotel lobby represents a distinguished achievement in contemporary hospitality interior design, demonstrating how monumental scale and intimate human comfort may coexist through thoughtful spatial orchestration and material sensitivity. The design team has created a threshold experience that positions guests within an environment of measured grandeur, where the commanding suspended light installation functions as both architectural focal point and symbolic gesture of welcome, its thousands of individual light points suggesting a galaxy captured within geometric order or perhaps the play of light through crystalline formations found in nature. The technical accomplishment of the lighting element merits particular attention, as the precisely calibrated grid structure creates optical effects that shift with viewing angle, appearing alternately as solid luminous volume, transparent veil, or dynamic particle field depending on one's position within the space. It is a design case for a resort hotel with an indoor area of 16,000 square meters and 19 floors. The hotel is in the Baianshan National Forest Park of Jiangxi Province. The designer creates ethnic-cultural characteristics that given the hotel a unique personality. Moreover, the designer designed a water-saving system for the hotel’s hot-spring bath in the air and each guest room. The system guarantees the user experience of tourists and effectively saves the natural hot-spring resources.
