Sakakini Fragrance Packaging

Silver A' Design Award Winner 2022

Amr Ibrahim Mousa's Sakakini Fragrance Packaging achieves a remarkable synthesis of historical reverence and contemporary sophistication, positioning itself within the distinguished lineage of luxury perfumery presentation while establishing a distinctive visual vocabulary rooted in cultural heritage. The design demonstrates exceptional command of material contrasts, juxtaposing the luminous warmth of antiqued gold metalwork against the profound absorption of matte black ceramic surfaces, creating a visual dialogue between radiance and shadow that recalls the chiaroscuro mastery of Baroque still life traditions. The ornamental cap represents a tour de force of decorative metalwork, featuring architectural elements and figural details that suggest connections to classical and sacred architectural traditions, while the slender spire finial introduces vertical aspiration that elevates the object beyond mere container toward the realm of precious artifact. The chromatic sophistication of the amber liquid, visible through the transparent vessel, contributes an organic warmth that mediates between the cool metallic precision above and the grounded earthiness of the display architecture below. The accompanying sculptural objects function as sophisticated repoussoir elements, their contemporary organic forms providing counterpoint to the historical ornamentation of the central vessel while their shared black finish establishes visual cohesion across the ensemble. The dried botanical specimens introduce an element of natural temporality, their wheat and ochre tones harmonizing with the amber palette while their irregular organic forms contrast productively with the manufactured precision of the vessels. The typography integrated into the pedestal demonstrates restraint and refinement, allowing the objects themselves to communicate luxury through material presence rather than verbal assertion. Viewers might contemplate how this presentation transforms a functional object into a meditative encounter with beauty, craftsmanship, and the ineffable art of fragrance.

The magnetic dome on the top of the bottle is the exact dome from the Sakakini Palace with its glorious rococo features as the intent is to remind people of the beauty of this abandoned building in a touchable way. The task was to create a luxurious and sophisticated product, package, and brand. It will promote Egypt's forgotten architecture and help save this rich heritage through the profits of the sales.
