Dome Restaurant and Bar

Within the distinguished tradition of experiential hospitality design, Hongbo Wung's Dome Restaurant and Bar emerges as a compelling meditation on the relationship between the sheltering gesture and the dining ritual, transforming the ceiling plane from mere functional enclosure into the protagonist of spatial experience. The design demonstrates sophisticated understanding of how overhead surfaces shape human comfort and social behavior, with the undulating golden canopy creating what might be understood as a contemporary interpretation of the primordial cave or perhaps the protective underside of a vast natural formation. The technical achievement lies in the seamless integration of organically flowing panels that appear to have been shaped by natural forces rather than human fabrication, their textured surfaces catching and redistributing light to create constantly shifting luminous effects throughout the space. The chromatic commitment to warm amber and gold tones establishes an envelope of thermal comfort that transcends mere visual perception, suggesting warmth that seems almost tactile in its pervasive presence. The coral-tinted central aperture introduces a compelling focal point that draws the eye upward while suggesting penetration or connection to realms beyond the immediate enclosure. Cylindrical columns reference classical architectural vocabulary while their textured golden surfaces integrate them fully into the contemporary material palette. When they have this two stories building project, they try to make it as natural and comfortable as they can. They open up a part of the ground of second floor and put a transparent light film on the ceiling to simulate the scene of sun rise. They curved all the conners to make a surrounded atomsphere. They also use an mix colored light system to create a vibe of early morning sun rising. At last, they use light golden artistic paint to give a relaxed feeling.
