Xinxiuli Headquarters Office

Silver A' Design Award Winner 2025

The Xinxiuli Headquarters Office by Ray Yang represents a distinguished achievement in contemporary workplace design, demonstrating how thoughtful spatial orchestration and material selection can transform functional office environments into inspiring settings for collaboration and creative exchange. This interior appears to engage with current discourse surrounding activity-based working, wherein varied spatial typologies accommodate different modes of professional engagement throughout the workday. The designer seems to have drawn upon Scandinavian modernist traditions in the selection of warm wood tones and organically shaped furniture, while the bold geometric floor pattern evokes mid-century explorations of optical dynamism and contemporary expressions of branded environmental graphics. The chromatic strategy proves particularly noteworthy, establishing a sophisticated dialogue between energizing warm accents, specifically the vibrant orange alcove that functions as a visual anchor, and the measured restraint of gray millwork and white surfaces that prevent sensory overwhelm. Technical accomplishment manifests in the seamless integration of multiple lighting systems, from linear tracks to circular pendants to recessed fixtures, each contributing to a layered luminous environment that adapts to varying activities and times of day. The incorporation of framed artwork along the back wall introduces cultural refinement and personal scale within the larger commercial context, while potted plants on illuminated shelving suggest attention to biophilic principles increasingly valued in workplace wellness research. This space invites consideration of how physical environments communicate organizational values and support human flourishing, perhaps prompting viewers to reflect upon the relationship between spatial quality and professional satisfaction in their own experiences.

The ocean themes led the design team's creative process through all the elements of graphic planning to finally creating an island space through an oval conference room at the focal point of the reception area. This design maximizes the influx of natural light and landscape views, making it more transparent and bright while breaking the boundary between indoors and outdoors. The panoramic view features the skyline of Ningbo East New City and the urban landscape of Yinzhou District. Like the mountains on the far horizon and the distant harbor, it appears like the whole world is within reach.
