Golden A' Design Award Winner 2025

Cloud Landmark Sales Office by Jian Zhang represents a distinguished contribution to contemporary commercial interior design, demonstrating how spatial architecture may elevate transactional environments into contemplative experiences of measured grandeur, the work engages with longstanding traditions of ceremonial threshold spaces while deploying distinctly modern material vocabularies and lighting technologies to achieve effects that honor classical principles without resorting to pastiche, the designer appears to have drawn inspiration from the proportional systems and axiality characteristic of historic reception halls while translating these formal strategies through contemporary sensibilities regarding material authenticity and atmospheric subtlety, the composition achieves remarkable balance between monumental scale and intimate refinement as the towering pilasters establish vertical aspiration while the centrally positioned floral arrangement introduces organic warmth and human scale, technically the work demonstrates sophisticated understanding of how illumination shapes spatial perception as the carefully calibrated wall sconces create rhythmic intervals of light and shadow that animate the otherwise pristine architectural surfaces, the chromatic restraint exercised throughout allows subtle material qualities to emerge including the warm undertones of the timber elements against the cooler plaster expanses, thematically the space seems to explore the potential for commercial architecture to embody hospitality and welcome through generous proportions and considered material selections rather than through overt display, the glazed backdrop opening onto twilight-bathed courtyard plantings introduces biophilic connection and temporal awareness suggesting the passage of day into evening, viewers might contemplate how this interior mediates between the efficiency demands of commercial function and the human desire for spaces that inspire pause reflection and appreciation of crafted beauty

Cloud Landmark is 600 square meters' sales office highlighting the commonalities between Hangzhou and Paris. Despite their differences, both cities share elegance and refinement. The design utilized 16 colonnades to frame a skylight atrium, with a large white camellia at the center. Commonly available materials such as marble and wood finishes were used, along with economical yet visually appealing solutions like stone texture paint. The result showcased the design team's ability to deliver impactful design under tight constraints, balancing display effect, time, and cost.
