David Tao Soul Power II Concert

Golden A' Design Award Winner 2025

The David Tao Soul Power II Concert by B'IN LIVE CO., LTD. represents a remarkable achievement in contemporary performance design, seamlessly integrating monumental visual communication with immersive theatrical experience to create a transformative arena environment that celebrates themes of universal love and human connection. This Golden A' Design Award recipient demonstrates exceptional command of large-scale chromatic orchestration, establishing a saturated blue atmospheric field that unifies the vast venue space while strategically deploying warm yellow and green accents to create compelling visual hierarchy and emotional resonance. The central typographic installation spelling "LOVE" with an integrated peace symbol exemplifies sophisticated visual communication strategy, transforming recognizable symbols of harmony into architectural-scale environmental graphics that communicate instantly across the enormous venue distances. The production design achieves remarkable balance between technological spectacle and human intimacy, positioning performers within a framework of geometric stage elements and cascading confetti while maintaining the audience as active visual participants through their illuminated devices and colored light accessories. The lighting design demonstrates nuanced understanding of theatrical atmosphere, employing cool blue washes for spatial definition while warm spotlights model the central iconographic elements with dimensional presence. Crown-like geometric forms flanking the composition suggest celebratory regalia, establishing visual rhythm and reinforcing themes of triumph and shared joy. The integration of thousands of audience members into the visual composition transforms passive spectators into collaborative creators of the total aesthetic experience, their raised arms and glowing screens becoming essential textural elements within the designed environment. This work invites contemplation of how contemporary performance design can foster collective emotional experiences that transcend individual spectatorship, creating moments of unified celebration that resonate with fundamental human desires for connection and shared joy.

In 2003, David Tao's Soul Power concert was hailed as legendary. Eleven years later, Soul Power II was conceived to recapture the essence of live music and the artist's soul. More than a remake or upgrade, Soul Power II is driven by a profound understanding of the artist's unique spirit, aiming to craft a heartfelt experience for modern concert goers. Inspired by the Tower of Babel, the stage features an 8 meter turntable with eight columns, using love to connect people globally. The flexible segments and dynamic stage design create an immersive, powerful musical journey.
