Bronze A' Design Award Winner 2025

Exhibition environments designed for international trade contexts have evolved into sophisticated spatial narratives that communicate institutional identity, cultural values, and professional excellence through carefully calibrated architectural, chromatic, and material vocabularies, and this installation exemplifies contemporary approaches to experiential brand communication within large-scale convention settings. The design demonstrates accomplished understanding of visitor psychology and circulation patterns, establishing immediate visual impact through the dramatically scaled curved superstructure that functions simultaneously as architectural envelope, branding surface, and wayfinding device, this sweeping horizontal element commanding attention across the competitive visual landscape of a crowded exhibition hall while creating a distinct territorial claim and memorable spatial signature. The chromatic strategy reveals sophisticated color theory application, deploying a high-saturation palette that balances cool spectrum dominance in the cobalt and azure architectural elements with strategic warm accents in vermillion, coral, and magenta that create focal points and prevent chromatic monotony, this complementary relationship generating visual energy and ensuring legibility from multiple viewing distances and angles. Technically, the installation integrates multiple material systems including what appear to be printed textile or vinyl graphics, illuminated signage technologies, metallic structural elements, and carpet or resilient flooring, each material selected for specific performative and aesthetic contributions to the overall experiential composition. The environmental graphic depicting an urban skyline embedded within the central display wall suggests thematic content celebrating connectivity, metropolitan sophistication, and international exchange, this photographic or rendered element providing figurative narrative content that grounds the otherwise abstract geometric and chromatic composition in recognizable imagery. The semicircular magenta carpet installation in the foreground demonstrates understanding of threshold psychology, creating a distinct entry zone that signals transition from general circulation space into the branded environment while its bold hue and organic geometry establish immediate visual differentiation from adjacent exhibitor spaces. The vertical metallic elements introduce linear rhythmic repetition and reflective material qualities that catch and multiply ambient and directed light, adding visual complexity and suggesting technological modernity through material association. The lighting design employs theatrical techniques familiar from retail and museum contexts, using focused illumination to create hierarchy, direct attention, and enhance material qualities while allowing less critical zones to recede through relative shadow, this chiaroscuro approach adding dramatic emphasis without uniform brightness. The installation invites consideration of how spatial design creates branded experiences that transcend simple information display, constructing environments that engage visitors through sensory richness, navigational clarity, and aesthetic pleasure, suggesting questions about the evolving relationship between physical and digital communication in professional contexts and the role of design excellence in facilitating meaningful exchange across cultural and commercial boundaries.

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council presented two pavilions at Ciie 2024 to support Hong Kong companies in expanding domestic sales in mainland China. The Hong Kong products pavilion featured vibrant colors and Led displays, while the Hong Kong service industry pavilion showcased a dynamic, arched structure with sustainable materials. These pavilions promoted branded products with ethnic cultural and regional features, enhancing their exposure.
