Nissan Skyline Brochure

Golden A' Design Award Winner 2020

E-graphics communications's brochure for this distinguished automotive model represents a masterful synthesis of commercial photography and graphic design that elevates promotional material to the realm of visual poetry. The work demonstrates exceptional understanding of how environmental context shapes perception of industrial design objects, employing two complementary scenarios that together articulate a complete brand narrative. The upper tableau, with its mirror-still water and brooding atmospheric conditions, positions the vehicle as an object worthy of contemplation, its sculptural form deserving the same reverent observation one might afford a work of fine art. This approach draws upon traditions of product photography pioneered in mid-century automotive advertising while incorporating contemporary sensibilities regarding color grading and atmospheric mood. The lower composition shifts registers entirely, embracing the vocabulary of automotive enthusiasm through dynamic perspective, motion suggestion, and the romantic associations of the open road at golden hour. Technical accomplishment is evident throughout, from the precise color management that maintains the vehicle's signature hue across dramatically different lighting conditions to the seamless integration of typography that respects visual hierarchy without compromising compositional integrity. The bilingual text elements suggest consideration of multiple audience contexts while maintaining elegant restraint. Together, these images invite viewers to consider how designed objects embody multiple identities simultaneously, serving as both aesthetic objects and functional instruments of experience and expression.

The Skyline, first introduced in 1957, is a premium sport sedan representing Nissan and has been followed by many Japanese customers for 62 years. Successive Skylines have evolved by adopting the most advanced technology at the time consistently. And now the all-new Skyline equipped with ProPILOT 2.0, the world’s first advanced driver-assistance systems hits the streets. It is a model exploring fun to drive in the new era.
